The SA Legal Academy has partnered with PocketAdvisor Legal Solutions to offer the Applied Legal Project Management Course which is accredited by the International Institute of Legal Project Management (IILPM).
This course is designed to equip legal professionals with the skills and knowledge required to manage legal projects effectively and efficiently.
The course aims to provide legal practitioners with the tools and techniques to plan, budget, schedule, and allocate resources effectively. The course focuses on scope definition, effective planning, communication and quality management, risk management, process issues, and scope changes, aiming to increase fees, profit, and efficiency.

- Project Planning: Learn how to use project management tools effectively.
- Risk Management: Identify and manage risks in legal projects and avoid issues from occurring.
- Scope Management: Manage changes in project scope effectively.

Course Delivery, Duration, and Effort
The course spans over 4 weeks with weekly virtual facilitation sessions, during which time you may ask any questions you may have and will gain additional, insights from our expert presenters. Each attendee will receive their own Extended DISC Assessment for personal development. DISC model: dominance (D), influence (I), steadiness (S), and conscientiousness (C).
This course is delivered through the SA Legal Academy online learning campus and facilitated by PocketAdvisor.
The course is divided into 15 modules. In this way you can maintain a work-life balance whilst studying and improving your professional skills.

Mrs Nicolene Schoeman – Louw founded SchoemanLaw Inc 2007, aged 24, and is now the Managing Director of the firm. She is an admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa, Conveyancer, Notary Public and Mediator; with a passion for entrepreneurs and helping them reach their most ambitious goals.
She is also an accredited Extended DISC Consultant and Growthwheel Advisor.
She is a frequent guest lecturer, radio guest and speaker and she is one of the skilled facilitators at PocketAdvisor. Nicolene’s involvement is a passion and means through which reliable legal information can be made available to more people.
Nicolene has enjoyed the confidence of many successful entrepreneurs (both locally and abroad) over the years and continues to do so. As a trusted advisor she has actively contributed to the successes of many businesses, helped and continues to help many entrepreneurs build lasting legacies.

Accreditation
PocketAdvisor is the accredited African training provider as appointed by the International Institute of Legal Project Management (IILPM).
Assessments
Your competencies will be assessed through:
- Four case study assessments
- A competency test
- Group feedback sessions on Extended DISC Assessment results
- Optional one-on-one mentoring sessions
Assessment and Certification
Successful completion of the assessments will qualify you for the Legal Project Associate™ (LPA) and potentially the Legal Project Practitioner™ (LPP) certification from the IILPM.
LPA Certification: Graduates who have full attendance, completion of the material and submit acceptable case study assessments automatically qualify.
LPP Certification: Graduates who have full attendance, completion of the material, submit acceptable case study assessments and also undertake additional one-on-one mentoring sessions qualify.

Requirements:
- Completion of the Applied Legal Project Management course
