This webinar is the second instalment of a two-part webinar series designed to guide HR professionals, managers, legal practitioners and employee representatives through the full disciplinary process from initiation to sanction.  

Part  1 (click here) covers the foundational principles required prior to initiating disciplinary proceedings, gather evidence, draft notices, and make suspension decisions. Part 2 of the webinar series offer best practice and procedure for conducting disciplinary hearings from understanding the responsibilities of each party to applying mitigating and aggravating factors, drafting findings, and determining appropriate sanctions.

About the presenter 

Attorney Chantelle de Sousa 

Attorney Chantelle de Sousa obtained her BCom (Law and Economics) and LLB degrees from the North-West University (Potchefstroom). She also studied the LLM (Human Rights, Conflict and Justice) at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London.  

Chantelle was admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa in March 2011 and has worked in various areas of law including intellectual property and human rights in both Europe and the rest of the SADC region. She eventually settled in the field of labour law where she has worked with employers, employees and trade unions in the South African labour space. She is the founder of Chantelle de Sousa Attorneys, a law firm dedicated to providing cost-effective and efficient all-round labour law services.
