Pleadings define the issues between litigants in court actions and determine what the court must decide. They establish the boundaries of what each litigant must prove and accordingly what evidence he or she may or may not lead. Any pleading that is not properly drafted can cause a litigant to lose an otherwise winnable case. As such, legal representatives who can draft pleadings correctly are in high demand.
Learning to draft effective pleadings will thus give any legal representative a competitive edge in the legal marketplace and the power to attract clients.
