Section 14 of The Consumer Protection Act (CPA) in Lease agreements
CPD Hours: 2
Price: R450.00
Overview:
This webinar will cover all aspects of Section 14 of The Consumer Protection Act (CPA) in lease agreements. It is of absolute paramount importance for a Legal Practitioner to truly understand the application of Section 14 of the CPA in respect of lease agreements.
The Law of Contract clearly stipulates and indicate how breach of a contract should be handled and the particular contract will give you a lot of detail in this regard. However, the risk of acting in terms of a breach clause which does not deal with Section 14 correctly or at all places the innocent party at massive risk for repudiation. This in turn exposes a Legal Practitioner to incorrect or unprofessional conduct in the sense that premature cancellation of a lease agreement could be and might be, tantamount to repudiation on behalf of your client.
Further to this, misinterpretation of this Section of the Consumer Protection Act in particular in respect of early cancellation by a consumer could lead to incorrect advise leading a client into unnecessary litigation or disputes.
