2024/25 BUDGET: OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PREPARATION PROCESS

National Treasury has issued a media statement calling for input from ‘taxpayers, tax practitioners and members of the public’ on any matters in the prevailing tax legislation requiring correction in the 2024/25 Budget.

According to the statement, stakeholder input should be confined to identifying and proposing remedies for:

  • unintended anomalies
  • revenue leakage
  • loopholes, and
  • technical matters.

This is noting that rates changes and ‘more substantive tax policy proposals’ are the focus of a separate process.
