ACCOUNTING: MORE AMENDMENTS TO GRAP STANDARDS PROPOSED

The Accounting Standards Board has called for input by 13 February 2026 on proposed amendments to the generally recognised accounting practice (GRAP) standard for accounting by principals and agents. This is with the aim of:

  • clarifying existing requirements for identifying whether a principal-agent arrangement exists, and
  • better explaining the approach in making such an assessment.

Comments are also sought on the need for improvements to various GRAP standards already in place. The deadline for input is 9 January 2026.

  • draft amendments to GRAP standard (principals and agents)
  • executive summary
  • document listing existing GRAP standards possibly requiring improvement
  • Government Gazette notice calling for input
