BANKS ACT: INPUT SOUGHT ON MARKET & CREDIT VAUATION ADJUSTMENT RISK REGULATORY AMENDMENTS

The Prudential Authority has published a draft directive on proposed amendments to regulations under the 1990 Banks Act – calling for public comments by 10 April 2026.

Deleting the regulatory requirements to be met when calculating capital for market and credit valuation adjustment risk (and making the necessary consequential changes), the amendments envisaged affect certain regulatory reforms and standards in force since July 2025 – themselves informed by Basel Committee on Banking Supervision post-crisis new/revised frameworks and requirements.

It is proposed that, once finalised, the amendments would take effect on 1 June 2026
