BILLS BEING PROCESSED IN PARLIAMENT (updated on 12 December 2023)

Please note: After Parliament went into recess on 12 December 2023, several developments took place – including the tabling of a Marriage Bill. They are reflected in this spreadsheet, which was updated on 14 December 2023. Changes since 12 December 2023 are emboldened in red. Please download the document before reading it.

The spreadsheet to which a link is provided below reflects the status of all Bills still being processed by National Assembly and NCOP committees when Parliament went into recess for the festive season. Developments since 30 November 2023 (when SA Legal Academy last published the spreadsheet) are highlighted and emboldened in red.

The committees are scheduled to begin meeting next year from 30 January onwards, according to a recently published first term programme.

You are advised to download the spreadsheet before viewing it so that all data is visible.

There are now 58 Bills before Parliament in various stages of being processed.
