BILLS BEING PROCESSED IN PARLIAMENT (updated on 31 October 2023)

The spreadsheet to which a link is provided below reflects the status of all Bills now being processed by National Assembly and NCOP committees. Developments since 29 September 2023 (when SA Legal Academy last published the spreadsheet) are highlighted and emboldened in red.

Please note that the National Assembly’s second reading of the Council on Gender Based Violence & Femicide Bill was scheduled for 31 October 2023. It is more than likely to have been passed and sent to the NCOP for concurrence, which is why the spreadsheet reflects that.

  • To view the latest version of each Bill, please click its title in the first column of the spreadsheet.
  • The second column indicates whether the Bill was tabled by a national government department or an individual MP.
  • A brief summary of the Bill’s overarching objectives can be found in the third column, with processing milestones in the final column.

You are advised to download the spreadsheet before viewing it so that all data is visible.

There are now 62 Bills before Parliament in various stages of being processed.
