COMMENTS SOUGHT ON DRAFT AMENDMENTS TO PREVENTION OF ORGANISED CRIME ACT PROCEEDINGS RULES

The Rules Board for Courts of Law is proposing amendments to Uniform Rules 6 and 57A, which respectively deal with proccedings in terms of Chapters 5 and 6 of the Prevention of Organised Crime Act. These chapters focus on the proceeds of unlawful activites and the civil recovery of property respectively. Unifornm Rule 6 deals with applications, and Uniform Rule 57a with the appointment and discharge of curators. The deadline for comment on these proposals has been set at 31 December 2022.
