COMPETITION ACT: MORE TIME TO COMMENT ON DRAFT VERTICAL RESTRAINTS REGULATIONS

The Department of Trade, Industry & Competition has gazetted a notice extending the deadline input on draft vertical restraints regulations under the Competition Act, 1998. Released on 3 June 2024, the proposed new regulations included contact information since found to have been incorrect.
As SA Legal Academy reported at the time, in preparing the draft regulations the department’s the intention was to compile a ‘non-exhaustive list’ of factors relevant to the process of determining whether a vertical practice believed to restrict competition in fact falls under the Act’s section 5.
