COMPETITION COMMISSION: INPUT SOUGHT ON TECHNICAL GOODS AFTERMARKETS DRAFT GUIDELINES

The Competition Commission has gazetted a notice calling for public comments by 21 September 2026 on draft guidelines for technical goods repair, service and maintenance aftermarkets.
According to the notice, the guidelines were developed with the aim of clarifying:
- how the Commission defines each relevant market and assesses its market power
- the categories of conduct and associated restrictions in each aftermarket with the potential to reduce or prevent competition, and
- ‘justifications … the Commission may consider’ when investigating and analysing complaints.
