The Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC) has published and called for public comments on a draft public compliance communication providing guidance to crypto asset service providers on implementing the ‘travel rule’ when making wire or electronic transfers. According to an accompanying notice, the deadline for input is 16 March 2026.
Once finalised the public compliance communication is expected to facilitate compliance with the FIC’s 2024 Directive 9, which came into effect on 30 April 2025 and is underpinned by international Financial Action Task Force Recommendation 16.
