The Department of Agriculture, Land Reform & Rural Development has called for input by 30 March 2023 on its intention to re-align certain areas of jurisdiction in Gauteng to facilitate access to deeds registration services for ‘all citizens of the province’.
According to a backdated Government Gazette notice published late on the afternoon of 2 March 2023, this will enable the department to implement ‘constitutional reforms in the current service delivery landscape’.
The realignment intended – along with related definitions – will affect deeds registries located in Pretoria and Johannesburg, extending their jurisdiction to the boundaries of Tshwane metropolitan municipality and all remaining areas of Gauteng province respectively.
