The Department of Justice & Constitutional Development has released a mid-term report on progress made in meeting its strategic goals for 2020-2025.

According to a foreword from Justice & Correctional Services Minister Ronald Lamola, among other things the department is:

  • working towards strengthening and accelerating the implementation of the seven-point plan aimed primarily at modernising the criminal justice system to make it more efficient and effective’,
  • focusing on digitalisation in order to ‘electronically enable and integrate … end-to-end criminal justice business processes and manage … related inter-departmental information exchanges’

In their forewords, both the Minister and his deputy, John Jeffery, note a significant reduction in the senior management vacancy rate.
