DRUG-FREE SPORT: NATIONAL ASSEMBLY COMMITTEE CALLS FOR SUBMISSIONS ON AMENDMENT BILL

The National Assembly Committee on Sport, Arts & Culture has called for written submissions by 14 March 2024 on the South African Institute for Drug-Free Sport Amendment Bill.

The Bill seeks to address issues identified in a World Anti-Doping Agency corrective action report to which the Institute was apparently alerted in October 2022. As things now stand, certain provisions in the principal statute still do not comply with the World Anti-Doping code.
