DRUGS & DRUG TRAFFICKING BILL TABLED IN PARLIAMENT

Responding to a 2020 Constitutional Court judgment declaring section 63 of the Drugs & Drug Trafficking Act, 1992, unconstitutional, the Drugs & Drug Trafficking Amendment Bill seeks to repeal the Minister’s delegated plenary legislative powers to amend the Act's Schedules 1 and 2. These schedules list illegal substances the manufacture and supply of which is a criminal offence.
