ELECTRICITY REGULATION ACT: LICENSING EXEMPTION & REGISTRATION NOTICE REPLACED

The Department of Mineral Resources & Energy has withdrawn a notice gazetted on 15 December 2022, replacing it with one gazetted on 17 January 2023. Since the notices appear to be identical, it is not clear why. Both notices amend the Act's Schedule 2 (exemption from the obligation to apply for and hold a licence). They also stipulate which electricity generating facilities exempt from licensing requirements for certain activities nevertheless are obliged to register with the regulator.
