Employment Equity Amendment Bill eases regulatory burden for small businesses

Justice & Constitutional Development Deputy Minister John Jeffery has drawn attention to clauses in the Employment Equity Amendment Bill often overlooked in the media.

According to the Deputy Minister, organisations with less than 50 employees will be 'exempted from complying with (the) employment equity administrative processes' of conducting workplace analyses; preparing employment equity plans; complying with sector-specific targets; and submitting employment equity reports. Recently passed by Parliament, the Bill is now waiting to be signed into law and commenced.
