FINAL OPPORTUNITY TO COMMENT ON ELECTORAL AMENDMENT BILL

The NCOP committee tasked with considering the Electoral Amendment Bill's 'B' version during the final leg of its passage through Parliament has called for written submissions by 9 November 2022. Passed by the National Assembly on 20 October, once in force the Bill will allow independent candidates to contest elections to the National Assembly and provincial legislatures without belonging to a political party.
