FINANCIAL INTELLIGENCE CENTRE ACT: MORE SECTIONS TO COMMENCE SOON

Sections 31 and 56 of the Financial Intelligence Centre Act, 2001, as amended, will come into force on 1 February 2023. This was announced on 20 January 2023 by proclamation in the Government Gazette. Section 31 deals with the conveyance of cash to and from South Africa, while section 56 makes it an offence for an accountable institution to fail to report an electronic transfer.
