FINANCIAL INTELLIGENCE CENTRE ACT SCHEDULES: DRAFT GUIDELINES OUT FOR COMMENT

The Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC) has called for input by 20 January 2023 on six industry-specific draft guidelines intended to assist accountable institutions in their efforts to comply with recent amendments to the FIC Act schedules. As SA Legal Academy reported at the time, the amendments were gazetted on 29 November 2022 and came into force on 19 December 2022.
Posted on the FIC website late on Thursday 15 December 2022, a communication notice drawing attention to the draft guidelines may have been overlooked by stakeholders whose businesses closed that day for the annual festive season break.
