FINANCIAL MATTERS AMENDMENT BILL: CALL FOR INPUT

Please note: The committee notice calling for input deals with two Bills. The Municipal Fiscal Powers & Functions Amendment Bill is the focus of a separate article.
The National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Finance has called for comments by 21 March 2023 on the Financial Matters Amendment Bill, which among other things seeks to amend the Auditing Profession Act, 2005, and the Auditing Profession Amendment Act, 2021. This is with the aim of addressing issues relating to allegations of improper conduct.
The Bill also proposes changes to a raft of legislation dealing with government pension funds – as well as the Financial &Fiscal Commission Act, 1997, and the Land & Agricultural Development Bank Act, 2002.
