FINANCIAL SECTOR & DEPOSIT INSURANCE LEVIES ACT: MORE AMENDMENTS PROPOSED

National Treasury has gazetted a notice calling for input by 3 November 2024 on draft amendments to Schedule 1 of the Financial Sector & Deposit Insurance Levies Act, 2022. This is noting that Scheule 1 applies to entities supervised by the Prudential Authority.
The amendments proposed are reflected in a draft replacement table among other things:
- listing each type of measured entity affected
- the percentage change in levy envisaged, and
- the rationale underpinning the calculations concerned.
Amendments to the Act’s Schedules 2 and 3 were gazetted on 23 August 2024, as SA Legal Academy reported at the time.
