FINANCIAL SECTOR TRANSFORMATION STRATEGY PUBLISHED

Recognising the requirements of the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment Act, 2003, and the Financial Sector Conduct Authority’s (FSCA’s) role in that regard, the FSCA has published a final strategy for promoting financial sector transformation.

According to an accompanying media statement, not only is the strategy is in line with the FSCA’s broader regulatory strategy for 2021-2025. It is apparently underpinned by key proposals for strengthening the transformative powers of the authority, which are included in a Conduct of Financial Institutions Bill expected to be tabled in Parliament this year.
