GREENHOUSE GAS INVENTORY: LATEST REPORT GAZETTED

The Department of Forestry, Fisheries & the Environment has gazetted South Africa’s ninth greenhouse gas inventory report, which:
- covers the period 2000-2022
- provides estimates of current emissions level and trends, and
- forms part of South Africa’s first biennial transparency report to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
This is noting that parties to the 2015 Paris Agreement were given until 31 December 2024 to submit their reports.
