HAZARDOUS HOUSEHOLD WASTE: DRAFT MANAGEMENT STRATEGY RELEASED FOR PUBLIC COMMENT

The Department of Forestry, Fisheries & the Environment called for input by 2 March 2023 on a draft strategy for hazardous household waste management. According to the accompanying Government Gazette notice, once finalised it will be used as a basis on which municipalities will apparently be expected to ‘build’ in developing sustainable, cost-effective collection, transport and storage systems. It does not deal with the treatment of hazardous household waste.
