HIGH-DEMAND SPECTRUM: KEY ASSIGNMENT PLANS FINALISED

According to an Independent Communications Authority of SA (ICASA) media statement on six recently gazetted radio frequency spectrum assignment plans, they will increase by 215% the availability of high-demand spectrum for ICASA’s competitive licensing process. Spectrum bands covered by the plans ‘have now been earmarked for their highest value use as key enablers for the deployment of international mobile telecommunications technologies and services, including 4G, 5G and beyond’.
