ICASA GAZETTES MORE SPECTRUM ASSIGNMENT PLANS

The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa has published radio frequency spectrum assignment plans for the following bands:
- 138 MHz to 144 MHz
- 156.8375 to174MHz
- 335.4 MHz to 380 MHz
- 380 MHz to 399.9 MHz
- 406.1 MHz to 410 MHz
- 410 MHz to 430 MHz
- 440 MHz to 450 MHz
- 440 MHz to 450 MHz
Each plan provides information on the requirements to be met, in line with each allocation and related National Radio Frequency Plan obligations.
To that end, among other things, issues covered in each plan include:
- radio system technical characteristics
- frequency channelling
- co-ordination
- migrating existing users, and
- the expected method of assignment.
