JUSTICE: COURT RULE ON PROCEEDINGS/DECISION REVIEWS TO CHANGE?

On behalf of the Rules Board for Courts of Law, the Department of Justice & Constitutional Development has issued a notice calling for input by 31 March 2026 on draft amendments to Uniform Rule 53.
Dealing with the review of a decision or the proceedings of ‘any lower court and of any tribunal, board or officer performing judicial, quasi-judicial or administrative functions’, the amended rule would not apply ‘when bringing under review any decision or judgment in criminal proceedings’.
