KRUGER PARK: INPUT SOUGHT ON REVISED ENVIRONMENTAL AUTHORISATION EXEMPTION PROPOSALS

The Department of Forestry, Fisheries & the Environment has called for comments on revised proposals that could see activities associated with Kruger Park’s maintenance, upgrading, expansion and development excluded from environmental authorisation requirements, subject to certain conditions. This follows a February 2024 call for input on similar proposals since amended to reflect some of the comments received.

The department’s intention is to adopt a revised generic environmental management programme, compliance with which would determine a project’s eligibility for exemption status. The deadline for input is 27 October 2024.
