LAW COURT RULES: LATEST AMENDMENTS GAZETTED

On behalf of the Rules Board for Courts of Law, the Department of Justice & Constitutional Development has gazetted the latest changes to rules governing proceedings in:
- the Magistrates’ Courts (amendments among other things affecting documentation, delivery and proof of service; subpoenas; costs; and e-Justice)
- provincial and local divisions of the High Court (amendments among other things affecting fees and tariffs; drafting and drawing up statements; attendance and perusal; and bill of costs)
- the Supreme Court of Appeal (amendments affecting fees), and
- the Small Claims Courts (amendments affecting fees; and sheriffs’ travelling expenses).
The amendments will be in force from 28 November 2025.
