LEGAL PRACTICE COUNCIL ELECTION REGULATIONS AMENDED

Amendments have been made to regulations on the procedures to be followed when electing legal practitioners to the Legal Practice Council.

Among other things, amended Regulation 2 prescribes in considerable detail the numerous steps to be taken and requirements met when holding Council elections every third year. This is noting that the 2018 regulations provided for the first election of legal practitioners to the Council and were conducted by the now defunct National Forum.

As far as can be ascertained, this is the first time Regulation 2 has been amended. The original 2018 regulations are provided below for ease of reference.
