LEGAL PRACTICE COUNCIL: THREE MORE RULE CHANGES IMMINENT, ONE FINALISED

The Legal Practice Council has called for input by 21 December 2025 on three sets of proposed amendments to rules separately affecting:
- the annual submission of audit reports, inspector’s reports and/or financial statements (draft), and
- Fidelity Fund certificate-related legal practice management course requirements for:
In addition, the Council has finalised amendments to rules affecting applications for converting:
- the enrolment of an attorney to that of an advocate, and
- the enrolment of a non-practising attorney to that of a practising attorney or vice versa.
They were released in May 2025 for comment, as SA Legal Academy reported at the time.
Backdated to 21 November 2025, all four notices were gazetted several days later as part of the composite National Government Gazette traditionally released on a Friday.
