MAGISTRATES’ AND SMALL CLAIMS COURT RULES: SHERIFFS’ SERVICE FEE TO BE AMENDED?

The Rules Board for Courts of Law has called for input by 15 September 2023 on proposals in terms of which a single fee would be charged by sheriffs for ‘service and execution as well as for attempted service and attempted execution’. It is envisaged that this would apply to services rendered for Magistrates' and Small Claims Courts.
