MAGISTRATES’ COURTS RULES: EJECTMENT TARIFFS FOR SHERIFFS

The Rules Board for Courts of Law has called for input by 15 September 2023 on a proposed amendment to the Magistrates’ Courts rule on ejectment tariffs for sheriffs.

According to a notice posted on the Department of Justice & Constitutional Development website, the Board has suggested ‘a time-based flat rate for the first hour and thereafter a lower half-hourly rate’.

It is envisaged that this would also apply to High Courts.
