MARINE PROTECTED AREAS: WATER SPORTS REGULATIONS AMENDED

The Department of Forestry, Fisheries & the Environment has gazetted amendments to regulations affecting certain water sports and activities in five marine protected areas. 

Immediately effective, the regulatory amendments are activity and area-specific, underpinned by new definitions. They do not necessarily apply across the board but – depending on the area – may have implications for personal watercraft, scuba diving businesses, and the maximum speed of certain motorised vessels.
