MERCHANT SHIPPING: COLLISION AND DISTRESS SIGNAL REGULATIONS AMENDED

The Department of Transport has gazetted an amendment to the 2005 merchant shipping collision and distress signal regulations – adding new sections to the annexure on rules and repealing amendments published in November 2022. This is noting International Maritime Organisation resolutions taken in 2007 and 2009, both of which have long been in force.

The amendments prescribe compliance verification requirements and new signalling methods.
