The National Assembly has passed a 'B' version of the General Laws (Anti-Money Laundering & Combating Terrorism Financing) Amendment Bill, which is now officially before the NCOP. This was announced in a parliamentary media statement summarising the Bill's purpose and the process followed thus far. According to input from Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana during a second reading debate on the Bill, it addresses most of the shortcomings identified by the international Financial Action Task Force; and is one of several measures being taken to avoid grey listing.
