NATIONAL PROSECUTING AUTHORITY ACT: NEW REGULATIONS

The Department of Justice & Constitutional Development has gazetted regulations on matters related to summons and oaths. Immediately effective, the regulations permit ‘a police officer, an investigator designated as such by the head of an Investigating Directorate … or any other person authorised or designated to serve process’ as sheriff. The new regulations prescribe the procedures to be followed when serving a summons; and include the form to be used when doing so.
