NATIONAL WATER RESOURCES INFRASTRUCTURE AGENCY: DEADLINE EXENDED FOR INPUT ON DRAFT BILL

Stakeholders now have until 17 March 2023 to comment on a draft South African National Water Resources Infrastructure Agency SOC Ltd Bill gazetted in September 2022. This is according to a notice published on the Parliamentary Monitoring Group (PMG) website.
Once established, the agency will be tasked with the design, planning, financing, development and operation of all water resource infrastructure nationwide. This is expected to ‘ensure a sustainable, equitable and reliable supply of water’ – in turn fulfilling the constitutionally enshrined right to human dignity, life, a healthy environment and sufficient food and water.
