PARLIAMENT: BILLS UPDATE

Parliament has issued a media statement confirming that the National Assembly has passed ‘B’ versions of two Bills tabled in 2021. They have since been sent to the NCOP for concurrence.
The purpose of the Agricultural Product Standards Amendment Bill is to facilitate the effective application of inspection, quality control, auditing and production practice management systems.
Once operationalised, by reflecting operational realities and challenges on the ground, the National Veld & Forest Fire Amendment Bill is expected to enable forestry officials to attend to their responsibilities more effectively, with the informed co-operation of stakeholders.
