PARLIAMENT PASSES COIDA AMENDMENT BILL

Once in force, a 'D' version of the Compensation for Occupational Injuries & Diseases Amendment Bill recently passed by Parliament will extend occupational injury and disease coverage to domestic workers. It will also introduce rehabilitation, reintegration and return-to-work obligations in the hope that employers will be less inclined to dismiss employees affected by occupational injury or disease. The Bill's 'D' version is not yet available.
