POPIA: AMENDED REGULATIONS GAZETTED AND IN FORCE

The Information Regulator has gazetted a notice announcing the amendment of certain regulations in place since 2018 under the 2013 Protection of Personal Information Act. Immediately effective, among other things the changes have implications for:

• the correction or deletion of personal information
• direct marketing through unsolicited electronic communication, and
• complaints procedures.
