PRIORITY CRIME INVESTIGATIVE DIRECTORATE: REGULATORY AMENDMENTS GAZETTED

The Department of Police has gazetted amendments to regulations on the requirements to be met by Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation personnel. Immediately effective, they replace a raft of provisions in the September 2020 directorate-specific and July 2018 general employment regulations.

Among other things, the amended regulations have implications for:

  • the disclosure of financial and other interests
  • integrity testing (including polygraphs, breathalyser testing for alcohol and urine testing for drugs)
  • exclusion from certain duties when taking certain prescribed medications, and
  • complaints procedures.
