PRIVATE SECURITY INDUSTRY: INPUT SOUGHT ON FAR-REACHING REGULATORY PROPOSALS

The Department of Police intends making changes to two sets of regulations under the Private Security Industry Regulation Act, 2001, and introducing separate regulatory requirements for maritime-specific security service provision. With that in mind, input is sought by 19 April 2024 on:
- draft amendments to regulations on improper conduct enquiries
- substantive draft amendments to the broader security industry regulations in place since 2002, and
- draft regulations on security service provision in the maritime sector.
