Among other things, once enacted and operationalised a Public Administration Management Amendment Bill recently tabled in Parliament is expected to address ‘unfair disparities that exist in remuneration and conditions of service … (across) the public sector, including public entities’.
According to a memorandum on the Bill’s objectives, to that end it provides for a ‘co-ordinated mandating process’ for determining the packages offered to public servants by way of collective bargaining.
