SPECTRUM ASSIGNMENT: SECOND CALL FOR INPUT ON DRAFT PLANS FOR THREE BANDS

The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa has called for input by 6 March 2023 on three plans initially released in March 2022 in draft form for comment. According to Government Gazette notices accompanying the three draft plans, this decision was made in the light of strong views expressed during the first round of public consultations. It is not clear from the notices if the plans have since been revised to reflect input received at the time.

The radio frequency plans affected are:

  • 450 MHz to 470 MH
  • 825 MHz to 830 MHz and 870 MHz to 875 MHz, and
  • 1427 MHz to 1518 MHz

Interested and affected parties are referred to the following documents:

  • ten draft plans released in March 2022 for comment, including the above bands
  • Government Gazette notice calling for further input on draft plans for these bands
