TAXATION: INPUT SOUGHT ON DRAFT RATES BILL

National Treasury has issued a media statement calling for input by 26 June 2026 on a draft Rates & Monetary Amounts & Amendment of Revenue Laws Bill tabled on 25 February 2026 with the 2026/27 Budget.
Giving effect to certain tax-related Budget proposals, according to the statement the proposed new piece of information includes:
- ‘details of adjustments to the various Tax Act thresholds’
- ‘exemptions and limit amounts’, and
- ‘changes to the excise duties on alcoholic beverages and tobacco-related products’.
