TRUST PROPERTY CONTROL ACT REGULATIONS AMENDED

The Department of Justice & Constitutional Development has gazetted amendments to Regulation 3E under the Trust Property Control Act, 1988. Immediately in force, they affect access to information contained in the beneficial ownership register and were drafted in consultation with the Minister of Finance and the Financial Intelligence Centre.
This is noting:
- amendments to the Act made by the General Laws (Anti-Money Laundering & Combating Terrorism Financing) Amendment Act, 2022, and that
- Regulation 3E deals with access to information contained in the beneficial ownership register, having been inserted into the 1993 regulations (as amended) on 31 March 2023 and in force from 1 April that year [when the General Laws (Anti-Money Laundering & Combating Terrorism Financing) Amendment Act also came into effect].
